The 41st LGBT Film Festival invites you to a film workshop, taking place from December 8 to 12, 2025, in Ljubljana.

Would you like to make a short film but lack motivation or a powerful computer to run complex editing programs? Have you often thought about turning your thoughts into visual form but don’t know where to start? Do you want to express something that feels indescribable — something words just can’t capture?

Say it with video!

During the LGBT Film Festival, a film workshop will be held — open to film enthusiasts and especially to those who would like to try themselves in the role of a video creator.

The workshop will be jointly led by Radžila Shrestha (Nepali director and this year’s LGBT Film Festival juror), Špela Setničar (completing her Master’s in Film and TV Screenwriting at AGRFT), and Hannah Koselj Marušič (completing her MA in Video, Animation, and New Media at ALUO).

No prior knowledge required!

During the workshop, you will learn the basics of scriptwriting and create a short film using your smartphone. The workshop will take place during the festival, from December 8 to 12, 2025, and will be held in three sessions:

- Introductory workshop (2 hours): developing ideas, getting to know the techniques, and shaping film structure.

- Main workshop (4 hours): preparation for filming, collecting materials, shooting, and editing.

- Final workshop (1 hour): group viewing of materials and finished films.

The number of participants is limited, so submit your application as soon as possible. Send it to ales.festival@gmail.com by November 30, 2025.

The festival is co-financed by the City of Ljubljana and the Ministry of Culture.
